You know, I never really took the time to listen to king crimson but based on "walking on air" I'm definitely looking for more from this guys. Any recommendations for someone who wants to get introduced to Crimson?
"Walking on Air" is one of their gentler songs. Others are "Matte Kudasai" from the album Discipline and "Eyes Wide Open" from their most recent album, The Power To Believe. But most of their music is not what I would call gentle...
As for recommendations, this depends: Of the three '80s albums, Discipline is the best. This phase of the band should appeal to Talking Heads fans. Of the later albums, Thrakk (which has "Walking on Air") is the most varied and interesting, but The Power to Believe is the one I find most affecting.
And melt we do...That King Crimson really is rather good, dare I say "Yacht". Which reminds me, Dexterity's new post made my century! As far as Lounge I've been closely studying the Midnight Cowboy soundtrack, which besides containing a version of Everybody's Talkin' (Nilsson), which is so necassary, it also includes A Famous Myth sung by (so lounge) The Groop. If you check out Stereolab's sleeve's, they actually often refer to themselves as The Groop. Aaaaannnd if they did not base most of their sound on Old Man Willow, sung by Elephant's Memory, then I'll be...That track A Famous Myth has got to be one of the most beautifully heartbreaking tracks of all time. Anyhoooooooooooooooooooooooooooo......

Very sexy songs, I don't remember the last time I heard a song from "in the nursery", making me nostalgic.
