Kinky Collection VII
I recently asked my favorite record bin-diver, andre, if he could arrange a short kinky compilation for us, but apparently he was kinda stretched on his own thing, so instead he gave me permission to take a pair of his songs (shakedown street, whole lotta pastrami) to add them to my kinky collection. What a cool cat! that bassline on pigbag is one of the best ones I've ever heard- The luscious edit on shakedown street makes it sound far better than the original one. I love the bumrocks too. Keep bringing up the good music.

The edit of Shakedown Street is actually by The Pharmecutical Executive, who is one of the DJ's on Market Frenzy. Can't help but feel that I caused the confusion there. 'Cos I did. :P

I see the guys on Market Frenzy are reffering to it a The Pharmecutical Edit. The edit of Steve Miller was done by DJ Ayres. All I can say is that if the Cosmic Yacht has Ayres on it's side, then there's no stopping it. We need a petition for rock edits!

Something that sort of keep nagging behind my mind. I wish there is a list that captures the sound of 'Moka De Motel'. (Yes, I know I am in my usual dorky wishfull thinking mode again)
A list/series of lists so odd and special unlike any other sound on mp3 blog scene. The sort of thing that can only happens at MdM.
The kind of thing that people can go aha, that's the sound of MdM.

not one song, but a list that capture the idea. I was thinking to scan the entire ez files and pick and choose, start with making super groovey kinky list... then another.. another. But I haven't thinking it through.
I am busy scanning the SXSW list right now. this will take some times to finish. a lot of weird stuff.
I can definitely say there is certain 'sound' that everybody here prefers. But I can't finger it yet.
