Unravel
...
What is that sound high in the air
Murmur of maternal lamentation
Who are those hooded hordes swarming
Over endless plains, stumbling in cracked earth
Ringed by the flat horizon only
What is the city over the mountains
Cracks and reforms and bursts in the violet air
Falling towers Jerusalem Athens Alexandria
Vienna London
Unreal
A woman drew her long black hair out tight
And fiddled whisper music on those strings
And bats with baby faces in the violet light
Whistled, and beat their wings
And crawled head downward down a blackened wall
And upside down in air were towers
Tolling reminiscent bells, that kept the hours
And voices singing out of empty cisterns and exhausted wells.

"Sebika - And They Look Broken Hearted"
01. Garbarek/Brahem/Hussain - Sebika
02. Paavoharju - Tavataan 12-7-2004 (web)
03. Midlake - Van Occupanther
04. Four Tet - And They Look Broken Hearted
05. Uzeda - Steam, Rain & Other Stuff (web)
06. A Minority Of One - Felld (web)
07. Venetian Snares - Szamár Madár
08. Alex Cline - Wreath of Rain (web)
09. Mogwai - Friend Of The Night
10. Faux Pas - Barry (web)
note: Second part in a series. On top of the obvious subject matter, this list tries to pull together IDM works and explore electronica emotive range as music work. (Four Tet, Venetian Snares, Faux Pas, A minority of One) The rest are my old and new favorites: Garbarek/Brahm form Madar (ECM), Uzeda new album (math rock, highly recommended), Mogwai last release, Paavoharju. Although slightly abstract, this list should be emotive by design. The effect I am looking for is turning inside out, ripping apart everything that is comfortable. Extreme tempo changes, rythm texture, harmonies, melodic placement and combination of unusual styles. I hope you appreciate it. Cheers.

The list above should work as a straight up end to end playlist. I listen to it over and over a couple of time and pound it together forcefully before letting it play.

that venetian snares album is very nice, absolutely worth owning. I might post more, but it's very dark album. I need to complete this series and post a cheerfull list...maybe finish that five easy lists for lover.

yes, the venetian snares is wonderful! I'm never been to much of a mogwai listener but there are several songs on mr beast that are worth the listen.
Nice list and nice poem sq

I thought Mr. Beast is a nice album. Moody, dark and doesn't compromise. Tho' mogwai's getting really polyrithmic. That will turn average fans away. It's too complex (it's that 'weird/unsettling feeling')

They did that "Bellini" thing with Don Cab. I am not sure if This last Uzeda album is recorded recently, or was from before Bellini.
I kinda want to email them and ask.
