Krautsüßigkeit

Teutonic sounds for a weekend that came a tad late for me. Most of the songs feature a steady motorik beat set to replicate the experience of motorway driving through the autobahn... or just bouncing on your living room alone at 4 am.

All flowing, repetitive and slightly snobbish. An accurate aural copy of how I've been feeling this week.

01.Gas - untitled 1
(Pop, 2000)
02.Zorn - eckermann
(block 011, 2001)
03.Mikkel Metal - kaluga
(Dorant/Kaluga 12", 2004)
04.Neu! - hallogallo
(Neu!, 1975)
05.Quarks - wiederkomm
(Zuhause, 1997)
06.Other's peoples children - on a clear day
(on a clear day, 2001)
07.Stereolab - whisper pitch
(fab four suture, 2006)
08.Fujiya & Miyagi - conductor 71
(Transparent things, 2006)

Me gustó lo de aural copy, extraño ambiente, como no estar en ningún lado, solo el sonido está presente

lol, in case you didn't knew the motorik beat (motorik stands for motor skill in german) was indeed definitely established by Kraftwerk (and Neu! in lesser part) as a flowing rhythm homage to motorway driving hence the autobahn reference (and they do have a song called "autobahn" mmhh..., makes you wonder).

and I never insinuated germans = technology, did I?

    Dear moka,

no need to tell me about autobahns and motorik. I am German. And that is why a combination of the words "teutonic", "autobahn", and "motorik" is annoying me (maybe, because it evokes "marching", too?). You know, we have more stereotypes. Like the one which comprises of the words "romantic", "forest", and "Caspar David Friedrich". I am not exactly sure, but I think the record from "Gas" is about that. I would be happy if you would make a post about german forests. That would be great.

and "technology" fits the concept of "teutonic", "autobahn", and "motorik", doesn't it?

Ok, your attitude is improving anonymous I will consider posting about german forests to please you. The Gas album that is actually about forests is "Konigsforst".

Sorry for the "teutonic" term, in my country germans go by "alemanes" and "teutones".

Anyhoo, it is a stereotype but I just want to make clear it was not my stereotype but the kraftwerk clicheé parody, so it's actually your own stereotypes, not mine. I don't know about the marching, though I'd rather make living room gigging to this ones.
